As Buildertrend expands its financial service value-add lineup, including BT Wallet, inbound and outbound payment processing, homeowner financing, contractor lending, and several varieties of construction insurance, customers have an increased need for a central hub where they can discover, onboard to, and manage the essentials of their add-ons without the time sink of manual Customer Support assistance.

The Deposits feature is the first step on Buildertrend’s path to more nuanced, versatile payables for construction companies. With a longer lifecycle and fundamentally different application than traditional invoices, deposits allow builders to secure prospective clients and kickstart early-stage cash flow before a project starts. With configurable refundability options, they can choose to keep the money as income or credit it back to the client later on.

The Best of Both Invoicing effort takes the strongest aspects of competitor-turned-collaborator CoConstruct and integrates them into the core Buildertrend experience. Where the legacy workflow concentrated cognitive load into the initial interactions and forced the user to needlessly duplicate operations in quick succession, the new journey takes inspiration from office managers’ traditional pen-and-paper workflows to streamline decision-making to one key moment.

With consumers’ high expectations for the safety of their money in mind, these redesigned email and mobile push notifications provide clearer, more trustworthy communication and foster greater confidence in users’ next interactions with the platform. The design template makes use of Buildertrend's updated brand standards, and custom copy ensures faster comprehension, directing attention to essential information and the best next steps.

Get Paid Your Way offers subcontractors flexible deposit options when accepting payments, improving their relationships with the builders they work with. On the flip side, general contractors can send money faster than ever, without worrying about the complications that come with physical checks.

The Payments from Printouts feature allows general contractors to instantly generate a QR code on their printed payables that, in turn, empowers homeowners to settle construction invoices with less effort. The experience sits outside of Buildertrend’s core platform, eliminating the hassle of login-based authentication and resulting in more on-time payments for builders.

The Buildertrend landing page centralizes critical project information and provides users with actionable insights about recent activity and upcoming work to be done. It is paired with secondary sidebar navigation that showcases the best of the new, responsive React tech stack.

Construction projects revolve around accurate predictive scheduling and resource allocation. The Buildertrend Schedule feature leans on design principles like Jakob’s Law to provide an experience that users can interact with confidently on the jobsite or in the office.
